Luck adapted by Chris Craddock, from the novel by Miriam Toews. With all
the humour, compassion, and intelligence of Toews' popular novel, this
inventive stage adaptation takes audiences on a hilarious and heartbreaking
journey as Lucy discovers that this may be the summer when everything changes.

June 17 to July 31 the Thousand Islands Playhouse
presents Blood Brothers in the Firehall Theatre, 185 South Street.. The
musical has a contemporary nature vs. nurture plot, revolving around fraternal
twins who are separated at birth. The twins’ different backgrounds
take them to opposite ends of the social spectrum, one becoming an Oxbridge-graduated
councilor and the other unemployed and imprisoned. Both fall for
the same girl, with tragic circumstances. From the incredibly talented
writer of both Shirley Valentine and Educating Rita. Few musicals
have received quite such acclaim as Blood Brothers. Scooping up no less
than four awards for Best Musical and receiving a standing ovation at almost
every performance in the West End. Written by Willy Russell Directed by

forced to look into alternate living arrangements (namely, retirement homes).
She soon learns that the simple things she took for granted as she aged—making
supper, playing crib, dealing with absentee children—are more precious
than she ever thought. From the acclaimed writer of The Hope Slide and
The Shape of a Girl comes this new one-woman show about the struggle to
age with dignity. Written by Joan MacLeod Directed by Richard Rose. Set
