2008 marks the 12th anniversary of The Limestone
City Blues Festival featuring four days of the best in blues! Internationally
renowned artists descend upon Kingston to hit such venues as scenic waterfront
Confederation Park and more than 15 downtown clubs, pubs and restaurants.
Saturday Night, the place to be is historic Market Square for the main
stage concert. A fitting wind-up to a great four days is the Sunday Brunch
Blues. All you need is your festival admission bracelet; good for the duration
of the festival and to all participating venues including Saturday Night

The annual Festival of The Islands in Gananoque
runs mid-August with nine nights of great music with an unforgettable finale
as a world-class fireworks musical extravaganza is presented from a barge
in the St. Lawrence River. Almost non-stop, there are many exciting events
including waterfront concerts, historical reenactments, parachuting exhibitions
and a giant craft fair and fireworks display. Celebrating it's 17th year
in 2008 it's all about the music! Admission bracelets on sale in Gananoque

2008 Verona Festival runs early-August at McMullen
Manner, Main Street. The Verona Festival is a three day joyful expression
of our community, starting Friday evening and going through to Sunday evening.

Annual Bass Cove Country Jamboree is held Friday
and Saturday in early-August at Bass Cove Campground (R.R.#2 Napanee).
The weekend features live entertainment, a junior talent show and food

August 10, 2007:
1000 Islands Poker Run & Shootout in Kingston,
Ontario is the CAN/AM, Worlds Largest International Poker Run with more
than 50,000 spectators. The 3-day annual event is held early August at
Confederation Basin in front of Kingston City Hall.
Kingston Family Funworld Park holds their annual
"Loonie Toonie Night" for Special Olympics in mid-August with all proceeds
raised going to the local Special Olympics chapter. Kingston Family Funworld
Park is located at 1533 McAdoo's Lane, off Division St. just north of Highway

Kingston and Area Antique Association presents
the 27th annual Homesteader Days vintage gas, steam and auto show with
live entertainment on Saturday and Sunday in late-August. Directions to
Ken Garrett Memorial Park: take Division Street, past Hwy 401 and drive
about 14.5 km north towards Inverary.
August 8, 2008:
Wolfe Island Musicfest 2008 line-up confirmed
for August 8 & 9. On Friday, August 8th it's the Flying V Showcase
featuring The Handsome Furs and Magic Jordan. Town Hall Hootenanny hosted
by Carolyn Mark with Luther Wright, Jenny Whitey, Joey Wright and friends.
Then on Saturday, August 9th starting 1pm at the ballpark it's Wintersleep,
Cadence Weapon, Land of Talk, Jason Collett, Plants and Animals, The Acorn,
Tony Scherr, The D'urbervilles, Music Maul and P.S. I love you. Limited
