Fort Henry National Historic Site of Canada heats
up Wednesday evenings throughout July and August with historic perormances
unique in all the world! The Fort Henry Guard Drums, Drill Squad and Artillery
Detachment relate an impressively interpreted hour and a half story of
1860's military music, drill and artillery maneuvers. Performed entirely
by college and university students, this perormance invokes patriotism
and pride as they deimonstrate their passion and skill for the craft. The
Fort Henry Guard steward a world-famous tradition that began on July 20th
1955. A tradition known worldwide.Be sure to ask about pre-show options
with Jessup Foods, either a full sit down historic dinner, served by Soldier
Servants or a casual pre-performance barbeque, open air in the lower fort.

The Museum of Health Care presents KGHistory
for Kids! Suitable for ages 6-12, this 30-minute outdoor memory and mapping
activity is a fun way for children to learn about the exciting history
of Kingston General Hospital. This eye-opening scavenger hunt includes
revelations of plagues, politicians, prisoners, doctors, new immigrants,
a nobleman and nurses, and spans nearly 100 years! Combining education,
entertainment and exercise, the activity takes place mostly outside, on
the picturesque grounds of KGH. Children also peek inside some buildings
of two National Historic Sites, including the first parliament building
of the United Province of Canada and the only remaining Victorian-era operating
ampitheatre in the entire country. Working from an activity sheet, kids
test their visual observation and chart their course on a map. The activity
begins at the Museum of Health Care in the Ann Baillie Building at 32 George
Street. Please make reservations by email at tour@kgh.kari.net
or call us at 613 548-2419. For more details please visit www.museumofhealthcare.ca

Looking for a fun, all-weather activity
for the whole family? The Museum of Health Care’s new indoor wheelchair-accessible
tour offers an intriguing account of the shocking, odd, and amazing history
of medicine and health care in Canada. From amputations and autopsies to
smallpox and syphilis, you’re sure to be astounded. Learn about a time
when a bottle of whisky was the only anesthetic available, and people with
tuberculosis were thought to be vampires. Don’t believe it? Come see it
for yourself. This exhibit tour provides a unique in depth look at disease
and pathology, medical treatment and discovery, and the role of volunteers:
three very different but monumentally significant aspects of health and
heath care. The activity begins at the Museum of Health Care in the Ann
Baillie Building at 32 George Street. Tickets are $5 per person (Children
