Introduction
Limestone City Junior Civitan Club membership is a great way to get
invovled and meet new friends. It's also an exceptional way of acquiring
the mandatory forty-hours of community involvement activities towards your
Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
Community Service
Helping people and improving communities of the world are the basic
fundamentals of any service work. Whether its turning an abandoned lot
into a playground or buying Christmas presents for a needy family, the
feeling of making a difference is heartfelt.
Environmental Awareness
Junior Civitans are sensitive to environmental issues. During Environmental
Awareness Week, clubs focus on enhancing environmental awareness. Many
clubs participate in projects to educate the public on the deteriorating
environmental conditions of the world. Other clubs conduct projects all
year that help improve the environment. Projects vary widely from recycling
Christmas trees to adopting a highway, stream, or an acre of rain forest.
The environment is a major concern for everyone, and Junior Civitans are
doing their part to help. |
Junior Civitan Creed
I am a Junior Civitan:
An aware citizen of today,
the standing promise of tomorrow.
I seek to meet the needs of our world,
To be progressive in a world of change
with compassion and understanding for
the values and traditions of the past.
I value the security of knowing
that wherever I am
I will always be within reach
of a fellow Civitan.
I dedicate myself
to society and to my fellow man
with a commitment
To make the world a better place. |
