for Kids! Suitable for ages 6-12, this 30-minute outdoor memory and mapping
activity is a fun way for children to learn about the exciting history
of Kingston General Hospital. This eye-opening scavenger hunt includes
revelations of plagues, politicians, prisoners, doctors, new immigrants,
a nobleman and nurses, and spans nearly 100 years! Combining education,
entertainment and exercise, the activity takes place mostly outside, on
the picturesque grounds of KGH. Children also peek inside some buildings
of two National Historic Sites, including the first parliament building
of the United Province of Canada and the only remaining Victorian-era operating
ampitheatre in the entire country. Working from an activity sheet, kids
test their visual observation and chart their course on a map. The activity

Cycle Week for June 3rd is the Kingston Velo
Club Roll-in Breakfast for communter cyclists, Princess & Clergy Street
(7:00am - 9:00am) and Wolfe Island Ride (5:00pm, departing from Wolfe Island
ferry dock). Communter cyclists are invited to stop by the intersection
of Princess and Clergy Streets for a free breakfast hosted by the KVC.
Cyclepath will be on site to provide free bicycle checks. In the evening,
a beautiful 17km ride across Wolfe Island will take place. Participants

organization committed to helping adults with intellectual disabilities

Ban Righ Summer Speaker Series, 32 Bader Lane
presents Hungry for More: Emergency Food in Kingston. Every day in Kingston,
hundreds turn to food banks and meal programs for help. These institutions
are essential but they can’t address the underlying causes of poverty.
How can we work together to leverage the human impulse for charity into
social justice? Susan Belyea is the coordinator of Loving Spoonful and
was the teaching assistant in a course on Global Food Security in the Department
of Development Studies last term. Loving Spoonful distributes fresh
surplus food to meal programs and shelters in Kingston, coordinates the
Grow a Row campaign, and works with other community groups on various food

The annual Skeleton Park Music Festival runs
June 17, 18 and 19. The Skeleton Park Music Festival is a neighbourhood
summer solstice celebration in McBurney Park, Kingston. The festival will
provide a venue for family activities, local artisans, education on the
history of the park, and local performing artists. With an emphasis on
music, this event is an opportunity for the Kingston community to become
better acquainted with their leading artists. Through this interaction

"G" (Glenn Williams) local radio personality
and cheerleader for many community projects and events, G was diagnosed
with ALS. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease)
is a devastating neurodegenerative disease, those living with the disease
become progressively paralyzed due to degeneration of the upper and lower
motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. The Walk for ALS is a fundraising
event for to support people living with ALS and relevant research and to
draw awareness of this deadly disease that makes those it strikes unable
to breathe or swallow. ALS has no known cure or effective treatment. Walk
